Meet the Captain
Capt. Austen Webber is the owner of Wind Tide Guide Co. and has been fishing the coast of Eastern NC for more than 20 years. Starting out of a kayak, he firsts cut his teeth on the tidal waters of Carteret and Onslow Counties. His family purchased a house on the Pamlico River in 2018, and Capt. Austen has been hooked on the Pamlico Sound estuary and its tributaries ever since.
Inshore fishing on the Pamlico is a unique experience. From season to season, its fish can move more than 100 miles, so there's a lot of ground to cover. Through years of trial and error, countless tournaments won and lost, and a small fortune spent in boat gas, Capt. Austen has honed his craft for catching speckled trout, puppy drum (redfish), flounder, rockfish (striped bass), and other inshore species that can be caught year round in the Pamlico Sound estuary.
Capt. Austen's sole mission is to provide an epic and educational fishing experience for anyone who chooses to book a trip with Wind Tide Guide Co. Fishing from a Sportsman Masters 227 bay boat, clients can expect a dry and comfortable ride in any condition. And armed with an obsession for quality fish pictures and videos, Wind Tide looks to provide memories that will last a lifetime!
